Day 1
: September the 03rd,
Friday
Ljubljana – Istanbul – Tehran
(snack on flight)
Meeting at
Ljubljana airport (letališče Jožeta Pučnika - Brnik) around
12.40. Departure from Ljubljana airport at 14:35 with Turkish
Airline and arrival in Istanbul at 5.45 p.m. Departure from
Istanbul to Teheran at 9.30 p.m. and arrival at Imam Khomeini
International Airport Tehran at 02.00 a.m. next morning. |

Day 2
: September the 04th,
Saturday
Tehran (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Around
03.30 a.m. we transfer to hotel (3 star hotels) in Teheran.
Rest. After late breakfast we visit the National Museum and
National Jewel Museum. Lunch in typical local restaurant. In the
afternoon we visit The Golestan palace and Ceramic and carpet
museum in the beautiful Laleh Park. Dinner outside in local
restaurant. Back to hotel. |

Day 3
: September the 05th,
Sunday
Tehran – Kandavan – Khoonegeli
(breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner)
Early
morning drive after breakfast from Teheran (100 km, 2, 5 h) to
Kandavan (3.000 m ASL). Stay for the snacks and rest. We
continue to Chelasar (150km- 3, 5 h) and “Khoonegeli”. Lunch in
traditional Iranian house! The road that takes us from Tehran to
Tonekabon is one of the most beautiful in Iran. We climb from an
altitude of 800m to 3000m and then to undersea level (-27 m) in
less than 6 hours! Passing through the central “Alborz mountain
range” in Northern Iran. Lunch at Khoonegeli. In the afternoon
we visit an old pottery workshop where 3 generations live and
work together. They make pottery using ancient methods. We
continue 20km to the famous Ramsar Hotel where the Shah of Iran
had his residence. Late afternoon we relax in thermal bath,
which is a famous one and one of the best sulfur thermal waters
in Iran if not the world! Dinner at Khoonegeli. |

Day 4
: September the 06th; 1st
trekking day: Monday
Dohezar – Qazvin – Rahe Gardan
(breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner)
After an
early breakfast we drive at to the Dohezar valley and in the
village of Esel Mahalle around 1000m ASL for the start of the
trek. This is the start of a very ancient route taken by the
locals to reach the world famous Castle of Hassan al Sabah (Alamut).
We will walk the valley of the Assassins in the plains of Qazvin.
The trek starts in this village and after 1.5 h of walking at we
reach Daryasar. This is beautiful plain where in the spring and
summer cows, sheep and goats graze freely and the shepherds make
cheese, yogurt and butter using thousand year old methods. After
snacks we continue trekking to Rahe Gardan (2500m ASL), a
shepherd’s dwelling where we camp for the night. Lunch and camp.
Possibility of walking to higher altitude in the afternoon to
3000m ASL. Dinner and rest. Sleeping in tents. |

Day 5
: September, 07th; 2nd
trekking day: Tuesday
Rahe Gardan – Gav Khosenei - Viney
(breakfast, lunch, dinner)
We continue
trek after breakfast from Rahe Gardan to Viney (3600m) which
will take us about 6 hours. This is the area where Alamuti
tribes spend the summer months with their sheep and goat flocks.
After 3hours we stop for lunch in Gav Khosenei. After rest and
lunch we continue to Viney where we arrive late afternoon. Rest,
dinner and sleeping in tents. |

Day 6
: September, 08th, 3rd
trekking day: Wednesday
Ascent to top of Siyalan (4250 m
ASL) - Alamut (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Very early
morning start for the climb to Siyalan summit at 4250m. We
arrive to summit in early morning hours. On a way down to Haniz
village we will stop to rest and to strengthen with lunch. We
continue to Haniz. This is the frontier with the plain of Qazvin
from where we have a fantastic view of the valley and the Alam
Kuh mountain chain which is known as the “Himalayas of Iran”.
From Haniz we drive to Gazarkhan (1 hour) to visit the castle of
Hassan I Sabah (Alamut Castle) in the afternoon. Dinner and
sleeping. |

Day 7
: September the 09th, 4th
trekking day: Thursday
Maran – (caravanserai) - Salaj
Anbar (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
We drive in
the morning to Piche bon village after 4 hrs. Of driving. After
lunch we trek to Maron village where we arrive after 3 hrs walk.
We visit and old “caravanserai” on the way to Salaj Anbar. We
drive from Maran to Khoonegeli, back to the start of our
trekking. Late night we visit thermal water baths. Dinner and
sleeping in traditional Iranian house.

Day 8
: September the 10th
Friday
Khoonegeli – Alborz Mountains -
Kashan – Silak hills (breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner)
After
breakfast we take an early morning drive to Kashan. We stop near
city of Karaj for breakfast near river. We can walk for less
than an hour walk to Central Alborz Mountains. We continue to
Noghli to have late lunch. Kashan is a very ancient city. In the
afternoon we visit the Ghajar houses and the Silak Hills where
human remains have been found dating back 8000 years. Dinner at
Noghli house in Kashan. |

Day 9
: September, 11th,
Saturday
Salt Lake Maranjab – camel riding
– rose water production – poetry reading
(Breakfast,
lunch, dinner)
In the
morning we leave to Maranjab salt lake and the sand dunes. We
will to try one's hand at the camel ride in the desert. After
lunch we visit Niyasar to see a Zoroastrian temple, where locals
make the most famous rose water in the world. We have dinner and
we spent the night in Noghli House where we will attend poetry
reading. |

Day 10
: September, 12th, Saturday
Natanz mosque
– Isfahan – Imam Square (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
After Early
morning breakfast we drive to Isfahan. On a way we visit Natanz
mosque. In Isfahan we have lunch and we visit Chehelsotun (20
pillar building) near Sio Se Pol Bridge. In the evening we will
visit the world famous Imam square with its many ancient mosques
and buildings and see how Isfahanis spend their evenings. Plenty
of opportunities to do shopping in the Bazar. Dinner and
sleeping. |

Day 11
: September, 13th,
Sunday
Marvdasht – Pasargade – Persepolis
– Necropolis – Shiraz (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
After early
morning drive to Marvdasht. We stop on way in Pasargade and we
arrive at Persepolis to check in hotel. After lunch we visit
Persepolis and Necropolis where we spent all day visiting
attractions. We spent night in a hotel in Persepolis next to the
headquarters of the Persian Empire. In the evening we visit
Shiraz. |

Day 12
: September the 14th,
Monday
Shiraz (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
A day visit
to Shiraz, “the garden of Iran”. Shiraz is also famous for its
great poet Hafeziyeh (Hafiz) where the tomb of the famous 12.th
century poet is. At Bazar Vakil are good opportunities to buy
tribal rugs and carpets. After rest we have evening flight back
to Tehran.

Day 13
: September the 15th
Tuesday
Tehran – Istanbul – Ljubljana
(snack on airplane)
In the
middle of the night we arrive at Mehrabad airport in Tehran,
transfer to Imam Khomeini airport for the flight back to Europe
in the early hours. Turkish Airlines leaves Tehran at 04.00 a.m.
We arrive to Istanbul at 5.55 a.m. and we continue from Istanbul
at 12.25 to arrive to Ljubljana airport at 1.40 p.m. |

1.890 EUR for more than 10 persons

SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENT: 300 EUR
Price is
calculated on the basis of 6 or more than 10 passengers -
trekkers. In case of fewer registered passengers we keep the
right to raise the price of the trip.
Price
included: airplane tickets Ljubljana – Tehran – Ljubljana and
airplane Shiraz– Tehran (economic class ticket), all airport
taxes, accommodation in two bed rooms with breakfast in Tehran
and Shiraz. Accommodation in local traditional Iranian houses
and 2 nights in tents on trekking. It is included also all
breakfasts, some snacks, lunches, dinners on program, all local
transfers, with minibus or 4WD vehicles, all entrance fees on a
program, Slovenian-English speaking guide all the time of the
trip., English-Spanish-Persian speaking guide from Iran, local
guides for local visits, English-Persian speaking trekking guide
all the time of the trekking, tourist health insurance, Iranian
visa, and costs of organization of the trip.
Price does
not include: personal expenses, drinks in restaurants, personal
tips for local guides, porters etc., and individual sightseeing
outside of the program. |

Iranian visa
:
Iranian visa is
obligatory. For a visa you need at least 6 months valid
passport, one full free blank sheet in a passport and 2 passport
photos. Please be careful that your passport does not carry any
stamp of Israel visa or Israel custom before!!! |
|
Vaccination :
There is no need for them.
Important warning: Iran is for travelers on of the safest
countries in the World! Level of the criminal is very low,
almost negligible. People are kind and very friendly to
foreigners but we have to consider local habitudes and customs.
Iran is a
Muslim country. Transportation, import or consumption of alcohol
liquids or drinks is strictly forbidden. For female passengers
is obligatory to wear a scarf around a head and wear a loose
over coat or loose overdress above normal wear. |

Advisable equipment to take :
Rucksack, warm sleeping
bag sleeping mattress (armaflex or term-a-rest), high altitude
sun glasses, sun cream, high walking boots, gaiters for snow,
thermo bottle (min. 1l.), towel, shampoo, swim suit, small
personal hygiene set, small set for first aid (plasters etc.),
head lamp, warm clothes (insulated jacket and wind trousers),
scarf, hat, gloves. |

Communication :
Internet for electronic
mails is in Iran available in better hotels and in internet
cafés. Mobile phones work in biggest cities and on a main roads
(roaming mobile). Fee is charged for incoming calls if on
roaming.

|
Money :
The currency in Iran is
the Rial. Almost anywhere you can pay also with American dollars
(US $) or Euros (€).
