"Caspian Trek" is dedicated to
ecologically responsible adventure and cultural tourism in
northern Iran.
We are a cooperative of local mountaineers who specialise in
trekking tours in the beautiful unspoilt region on the southern
shores of the Caspian Sea. With
the Caspian to the north and the Alborz mountain range to the
south, the West Central Alborz peaks are some of the least
visited and most scenic in
Iran.
The treks allow one to climb from 27m below sea level to a
height of over 4000m in just one day. There are numerous
trekking routes (outlined below), many of which pass through
summer villages and dense forests rich in pastoral culture.
There are also forest roads ideal for mountain biking and
several peaks over 4000m (12,000 feet). We believe
Iran
is a country much misunderstood by westerners and misrepresented
in the world media and part of our aim is to dispel some of the
clichéd perceptions. |
